    I am receiving “Unparsable structured data Errors” Parsing error: Missing ‘,’ or ‘}’. The Google Search Console Help page regarding these issues states that “The most common cause of a single error affecting multiple pages is an underlying template error.”
    I am seeing that the errors are most consistently within the Schema.org code in the header.php:
    {
    “@context”: “http://schema.org”,
    “@type”: “NewsArticle”,
    “headline”: “<?php the_title(); ?>”,
    “alternativeHeadline”: “<?php echo plsh_excerpt(20); ?>”,

    “image”: [“<?php if($img) { echo esc_url($img[0]); } ?>”],
    “datePublished”: “<?php echo esc_attr(get_the_date(‘Y-m-dTH:i:s’)); ?>”,
    “description”: “<?php echo plsh_excerpt(50); ?>”,
    “articleBody”: “<?php echo strip_tags(get_the_content()); ?>”
    }
    Using the Structured Data Tool and Schema.org, is the @type “NewsArticle” is correct for my blog site as it is an ecommerce site? That is why I purchased the Polaris theme.
    Can you please advise?
    Thank you

    Here is the response from Yoast:
    “Hi Dianna,
    Thanks for contacting the Yoast support team. We have tested your site using the Google Structured Data Testing tool and were able to reproduce it on our end. We can confirm that the relevant Schema isn’t generating by Yoast SEO but something else on your site. The following Schema is Google referring here which isn’t outputting by Yoast SEO:”

    When I am looking at the error examples displayed on my GSC I am seeing a majority of the errors are located within the code section that I am finding on my Theme header.php file. Namely, the “alternativeHeadline” (please see attached screen shot) within the source code:
    <script type=”application/ld+json”>
    {
    “@context”: “http://schema.org&#8221;,
    “@type”: “NewsArticle”,
    “headline”: “<?php the_title(); ?>”,
    “alternativeHeadline”: “<?php echo plsh_excerpt(20); ?>”,

    “image”: [“<?php if($img) { echo esc_url($img[0]); } ?>”],
    “datePublished”: “<?php echo esc_attr(get_the_date(‘Y-m-dTH:i:s’)); ?>”,
    “description”: “<?php echo plsh_excerpt(50); ?>”,
    “articleBody”: “<?php echo strip_tags(get_the_content()); ?>”
    }
    </script>

    Here is Yoast confirming this is not their code.
    “Hi Dianna,
    Thank you for contacting the Yoast support team.
    None of our plugins add any code to your header.php file. The code you have found there is probably custom coded by a developer into your theme.
    Our plugins add code in the <head> of your pages using hooks and filters (meaning it’s added dynamically). You will not find any of the code generated by our plugins in your theme’s files.”

    Everything I am researching keeps advising me that I go to my Theme developer with these issues. I am also including the url’s of some of the example pages on my site that is receiving the “Unparsable structured data Errors” > Parsing error: Missing ‘,’ or ‘}’

    Please advise
